Cost: $60 per teen. Teens will not be turned away for the inability to pay. If this is a concern, please reach out to the Youth Formation Coordinator, Cathy Campbell.

“TEEN FAITH” – Blessed & Booming!
· WHAT IS IT? High School Youth Group enjoy fellowship & faith-filled friendships with others. They draw closer to Jesus, develop a deeper understanding of the Catholic faith, share the love of Jesus through helping and serving, etc.
· WHO ATTENDS?: High Schoolers from parishes of St. Columbkille & St. Gerald (and any other teens who are invited to attend by these teens). We served teens from as many as 13 different high schools around Omaha.
· WHEN & WHERE DO THEY MEET?: Mid-August through Mid-May on Wednesday evenings
- 1st/3rd /5th Wednesdays (6:30 pm – 8:30 pm) 9th-12th Graders meet in Social Level at St. Columbkille Church
- 2nd/4th Wednesdays – Each grade level meets in homes of leaders who are trained & Safe Environment certified
· WHY? Teens feel welcome, known & loved in our church community. Teens become equipped to make challenging decisions by being accurately informed of church teachings on controversial issues in our world. Teens develop confidence in their faith & comfortable in defending it. Teens develop a personal relationship with Jesus with the hopes of choosing to practice their faith beyond their high school years. Teens feel more confident when they know they aren’t alone in their faith journey; it helps to have companions on our journey of faith!
· HOW? Faith-filled adults volunteer their time leading our teens on Wednesday nights (college students, young adults, young married couples, parents of the teens, empty-nesters, grandparents… anyone can help!). Volunteers serve meals, donate funds for events, speakers and retreats.

Helping teens develop a relationship with Jesus and better understand teachings of the Catholic Church is no small task. As such, youth ministry relies on a team of parents and volunteers – of all ages! – within the parish community to assist in catechesis and coordination of events. By offering their time, ideas, and talents, adults help enrich the youth programs in a very real and dynamic way. Chaperones and general help are also essential to the functioning of youth programs and provide good examples and relationships for young people.
All volunteers must complete Safe Environment Training through the Archdiocese of Omaha.
